Gorgeous day!

I'm not sure how high the temperature got today, but I know it was in the 80s and GORGEOUS!! My girlie woke up this morning asking to go to the park before she'd even had breakfast. And I had no good reason to deny her this wish. I'm not a fan of the local city park but my neighbor had told me about this little park down this country road so we found it and had a great time on the much nicer, much SAFER, playground equipment. The poor and unsafe conditions of so many park playgrounds has really been bothering me. I've been tempted to get another zoo membership just because we really liked their playgrounds! A friend told me to check out school playgrounds during non-school hours - - they have to keep up with safety standards at least! We'll probably do that this summer.

And speaking of summer... I've got some adjusting to do. This warm weather, the extended sunshine.. my daughter thinks she should get to stay outside all day. As we were eating dinner tonight, she began to cry, "Mama, let's go outside please. Just a little bit. I wanna play in my backyard. Please, just 5 minutes." It's hard to resist her but sometimes I must. And my house is a mess. I've got to figure out a new schedule..

Here are a few pics from the park. As the sand filled her shoes, they quickly came off. And she exclaimed, "it's like the beach mama!" (She's been asking us to go the beach lately, ha ha.) She also said the play structure was her castle and she was a princess. I love watching her imagination at work!

And because I love nature photography, here's a photo of the blossoms on our cherry tree. It is a small tree (young) but wow - - it is covered in so many white fluffy blossoms which popped out overnight it seemed. Spring is so amazing!! I really do love the change in seasons and the beauty each one brings (particularly Fall and Spring, for me).
